JAMMU, June 30: Former All India North Zone medalist and ace athlete, Nirmal Singh, presently working as Lecturer of Physical Education in the Department of Youth Services and Sports has created history by being nominated as the Technical Official (1st ever from the State) for the prestigious 22nd Edition of Asian Athletics Championship to be held at Bhubaneshwar (Odisha) from July 6 to July 9, 2017.
Mr Nirmal, has the distinction of being best athlete for the State for ten consecutive years, besides having the honour of representing the State in National Games for five times.
It is pertinent to mention here that Mr Nirmal was appointed National Coach for South Asian Junior Champio-nship in the month of October last year. The Coaching Camp was held at NIS Patiala in Punjab.
According to nomination letter issued by Athletics Federation of India (AFI) through its Secretary, CK Valson, all his expenses on participation will be borne by the Organizing Committee of this Champi-onship.
