NGO distributes free school bags

JAMMU, June 28: Free school bags and stationary items were distributed by NGO National Students Welfare Association (NSWA) among 75 orphan students of Bhalessa during a seminar held today.
Jony Kumar, Tehsildar Bhalessa was the chief guest on the occasion, while Abdul Rehman Rather presided over the function.
The Programme was attended by 15 local schools, the speakers focused on two different topics.
Shakib ul Hassan Zargar of HSS Kilhotran, Aamir Sohail of Gayasiya Model School Changa  and Sofia Tabassum  of Jamia  Gunyat Ul Uloom Jakyas begged first prizes in Cultural heritage, Environment and Painting.  Iqra Ayoub of HSS kilhotran,  Nadeem Baksh of Gayasia Model School Changa, and Azher Johan of HSS Kilhotran begged 2nd prizes, whereas, Huma Tabassum of Gunyat Ul Uloom, Salma Kousar of HSS Kilhotran, and Khalid Masroor of Jamia Gunyatul Uloom Jakyas begged third prizes respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Sadaket Malik, Chairman of the association said that the need is to harness the young talent of the innocent posterity of this area and assured the administration as helping hand in such activities on frequent basis.
The Proceedings of the Programme was conducted by Dr. Imtiaz and Nissar Ahmed.
Meanwhile, the NGO presented awards to the veteran writer Shameem Ahmed Mattoo, and Journalist Ishtiak Malik for their outstanding achievements in diverse fields.
Trade Union Leader, Jamayat Ali Agah appreciated the NGO for these activities.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Naseer Ahmed Batt,  Subedar Jaswant Singh 26 RR, Farooq Sheikh, Ghulam Nabi Wani and Bharat Bhushan.
