Neeraj, Ranjeet of SMVD Gurukul share first position

KATRA, Dec 29: Neeraj Jamwal and Ranjeet Singh, both students of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) Gurukul, Charan Paduka, Katra have secured highest marks in the annual examination of class 8th conducted by the Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishaw Vidyalaya, Varanasi in May-June, 2014 and jointly secured first position in the University.
On their outstanding achievement, Neeraj Jamwal and Ranjeet Singh were awarded Vakratund Shukal Swaran Padak (Gold Medal) by the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Ram Naik, Chancellor of the Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishaw Vidyalaya at its convocation held at Varanasi earlier.
N N Vohra, Governor Jammu and Kashmir and Chairman, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, has congratulated the two students and the Principal along with his team of Acharyas and Teachers on the spectacular performance of the Gurukul in the 8th Class annual examination conducted by the Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishaw Vidyalaya.
It is pertinent to mention that last year also a student of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Gurukul, Master Gourav Sharma had secured first position in the annual examination of class 8th conducted by the Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishaw Vidyalaya and was awarded medal by the Chancellor of the Vishaw Vidyalaya.
Giving details, Dr M K Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, informed that it is consecutively for the second year that the students of the Gurukul have registered outstanding performance in the annual examinations of class 8th and 9th conducted by Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishaw Vidyalaya.
He said that the Gurukul has not only achieved the distinction of 100% pass percentage but all the students of both 8th and 9th classes have secured first divisions with marks ranging between 60% to 80%.
At present 86 students are studying in the 6th to 10th classes in this fully residential institution established by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and made operational in July, 2010. The students are being imparted education in Vedas, Sanskrit, religious scriptures, Karamkand and Puja rituals, apart from being taught all modern subjects including Science, Mathematics and Computers. Education, boarding, lodging, books, uniforms etc. are being provided to the students by SMVDSB totally free of cost.
The Shrine Board has also made elaborate arrangements for indoor and outdoor games at the Gurukul for all-round development of personality of the students.
