NCC, Tawi Sports Club register wins in 4th JKPL T20

JAMMU, Apr 10: Formid-able National Cricket Club (NCC) and Tawi Sports Club scripted convincing wins overs their rivals to move into the next round of the ongoing 4th Jammu and Kashmir Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Shashi Paul and his team at GGM Science College, Hostel ground, here.
In the first match, Tawi Sports Club defeated Young United Cricket Club by a narrow margin of 9 runs.
Batting first, Tawi Sports Club scored a modest total of 112 runs in 10.4 overs. Nitin Mehra top scored with 33 runs, while Sarthak Peshin and Abdul Samad contributed 31 and 15 runs to the total respectively. For Young United CC, Vikas took 3 wickets, while Akshit and Bharat bagged 2 wickets each and Sohail claimed one.
In reply, Young United Club scored 103 runs in 20 overs, thus lost the match by 9 runs. Asif top scored with 39 runs, while Rahul Salotra contributed 13 runs to the tota. Nitin Mehra was pick of the bowlers for Tawi Sports Club, who scalped 4 important wickets, while Anchal bagged 3 wicket and Tayyab Farooq claimed one. Nitin Mehra was declared as man of the match.
In another match, NCC defeated Singh Cricket Club Bawa Talab by 50 runs.
Batting first, NCC scored a decent total of 150 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Pranav Gupta was the top scorer with magnificent 62 runs, while Manish Dogra and Inderjeet Singh contributed 28 and 16 runs to the total respectively. For Singh Club, Kavi took 4 wickets, while Ankan claimed 2 wickets. Lablu, Happy and Bawa took one wicket each.
In reply, Singh Club bundled out for 106 runs in 15.5 oers, thus lostthe match by 50 runs. Kavi top scored with 44 runs, while Bawa and Binny contributed 19 and 12 runs respectively. For NCC, Bodh Raj took 3 wickets, while Pranav Mahajan and Vijay Dogra claimed 2 wickets each.
