NCC lifts Championship in Reasi, Vishal wins title in Jammu

JAMMU, July 8: NCC Reasi defeated RCC in an easy contest to win title at Sports Stadium Reasi, while Vishal trounced KCCC in a close contest of Under-16 boys to lift the title trophy of the ongoing JKCA Premier Championship, organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here today.
The Championships are being held under the supervision of JKCA Committee of Members namely Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal and Sham Saroop Kalsotra.
At GGM Science College ground, Vishal Cricket Club defeated KCCC by a narrow margin of 18 runs in a close contest. Batting first, Vishal Cricket Club scored a decent total of 165 runs in the stipulated 30 overs. Udhay Partap Singh top scored with 42 runs, while Shivansh Sharma, Praful Dhar and Rohan Gill contributed 29, 28 and 24 runs to the total respectively.
Earlier, after a good opening stand of 65 runs between Shivansh and Rohan, Vishal suffered a sudden collapse and were struggling at 90/6, before Udhay Partap and Praful came to the team’s rescue and took the score to a decent total of 165 runs.
KCCC, in reply managed to score 147 runs to lose the match by 18 runs.
At Sports Reasi, NCC defeated RCC by 67 runs. Batting first, NCC scored 174 runs, while in reply RCC managed to score 107 runs.
At Police Line Ground, Ramban, Combine Chandrog defeated Seri Cricket Club in the summit clash to lift the title. Seri Cricket Club scored 124 runs, while Combine Chandrog reached the target in 21.5 overs by losing 5 wickets.
Meanwhile, in the two matches at Degree College ground, Bhaderwah, Doda Warriors and United Cricket Club emerged winners to advance into the next round.
