JAMMU, Nov 1: MV International School organized ‘Juniors Annual Sports Meet’ in school premises today.
On the occasion, Arun Manhas, Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba was the chief guest, while Vijay Kumar Sharma, SDM, Vijaypur was the special guest. Chairman of School Hira Lal Abrol, Vice Chairperson Savita Abrol, Director Gourav Abrol and Principal Kundan Lal Dogra were also present during the program.
In the meet, the participants exhibited great zeal and fervor to make the event a great success. The day begun with a well-coordinated march past of all the classes.
The meet was declared open by the Arun Manhas, Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba.
Energetic athletes from classes Prep to 2nd displayed lot of confidence and spirit of sportsmanship as they competed with their peers in Big Fish Race, Cap Cone Race, Ring Race, Hurdles Race, Prick the Balloon, Baby Race, Paper Ball Race, Farmer Race, 50m race etc.
Nearly 100 medals were won by the best performers of the day. Parents also participated with great enthusiasm in the games like cloth folding, garland race, proposal race and 50 m race. Nearly 50 mementos were given away to the parents’ participants as well as to the sports achievers.
Dr Arun Kumar Manhas in his address talked about importance of sports in daily life.
Colourful display of skills in gymnastics, yoga, self defence and dance drills were presented by students to mark the celebrations of the day.
