Muskan wins Gold at 38th National Games

JAMMU, Feb 11: Muskan, a talented gymnast from Jammu and Kashmir, has made the Union Territory proud by winning the prestigious All-Round Best Gymnast title and a Gold medal at the ongoing 38th National Games in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Muskan delivered an exceptional performance across all four gymnastics apparatus – Hoop, Ball, Clubs, and Ribbon, earning a total of 101.10 points, which secured her the top honours in the event.
In addition to Muskan’s triumph, another promising gymnast from J&K, Manya, ranked 4th in the All-Round Best Gymnast title highlighting the strong presence of J&K gymnasts on the national stage.
Secretary of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, Sarmad Hafeez, congratulated Muskan and Manya for their remarkable achievements. He expressed immense pride in their performances, saying, “These outstanding performances by the gymnasts highlight the immense talent and determination of our athletes.” Secretary of the Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul, also praised the gymnasts, recognizing the growing sports ecosystem in J&K.
Kiran Wattal, vice president of the Gymnastics Federation of India, also acknowledged the efforts of coaches, including Arjuna Awardee Krupali Singh and Manisha Gupta, for their dedication in training the athletes. He credited the J&K administration, under Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, for its commitment to developing world-class sports infrastructure and creating opportunities for young athletes. He further highlighted the contributions of Sarmad Hafeez and Nuzhat Gul in promoting sports across the region.
