JAMMU, May 12: Mumbai Hockey Association, Bengal Hockey Association, Chandigarh Olympic Association, Hockey Puducherry and Hockey Bihar registered emphatic victories over their rivals in the ongoing 5th Hockey India Sub Junior National Hockey Championship, being played at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here.
Earlier, in Pool A, Mumbai HA crushed Goans Hockey by ten goals to nil (10-0). Tikaram Thakulla, Amreen Rogay and Satyam Yadav scored 3 goals each, while Shreyas Dhupe netted one goal.
In Pool C, Bengal Hockey Association defeated Citizen Hockey by three goals to nil (3-0). Akhilesh Santra scored 2 goals, WHILE Rajesh Mondal pelted one.
In Pool D, Chandigarh Olympic Association (COA) THRASHED Hockey Himachal by 15 goals to one in a one-sided contest. Mahinder Singh scored 7 goals, while Sanjay netted 3, Arshdeep Singh scored 2 and Hashim, Sukhman Singh and Prabhjeet Singh scored one each. For Hockey Himachal, Sher Singh was the goal scorer.
In Pool B, Hockey Puducherry defeated Hockey Hockey Uttrakhand three goals to one (3-1). SURJITH, Ranjith and Yokesh netted a goal each for Puducherry, while Vishnu Kumar scored the lone goal for Uttrakhand.
In Pool d, Hockey Bihar got better of Hockey Jammu and Kashmir by ten goals to two (10-2). Anand Kumar Bara was the star performer for Bihar, wo scored 5 goals, while Baskar Singh scored 2 and Sunil Mundu, Vinay Xess and Binit Ekka shared one goal each. Prabjot Singh and Ramandeep Singh were the goal scorers for Hockey J&K.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Hockey J&K will take on Chandigarh Olympic Association at 7:30 am, Citizen Hockey XI will face Hockey Patiala at 9 am and Hockey Bihar will lock horns with Vidharbha Hockey Association at 4:30 pm.
