SAMBA, May 10: Defeating Government Girls High School Ghagwal by a narrow margin of two points in the summit clash, Government Middle School Rajpura of Ghagwal zone claimed the kho-kho Under-14 girls title trophy in the ongoing Inter-School Tournament in the disciplines of kho-kho, volleyball and kabaddi, which concluded, here today.
The tournament, in which 2100 students drawn from the zones of Samba, Ramgarh, Vijaypur and Ghagwal participated was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the overall supervision of Jarpal Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Samba.
Earlier, at Ghagwal zone, HSS Rajpura defeated HS Nishla by one point to win the kho-kho Under-17 title, while in kabaddi Under-17 girls, HS Sarthian defeated HS Nishla by 19 points in an easy contest.
At Samba zone, NV Dhalote defeated HS Taloor by 5 points to win Under-17 kho-kho title, while NV Dhalote got better of HS Taloor by 3 points to claim Under-14 kho-kho title. Kabaddi Under-17 title of Samba zone also went to NV Dhalote, defeating HSS Sumb by 17 points.
At Ramnagar zone, MIER HSS Khanpur beat HS Mahalshahan by 2 points to win Under-14 kho-kho title, while GHS Ramnagar retained Under-14 title.
Meanwhile, at Vijaypur zone, MS Gudwal trounced BBN by 3 points to win kho-kho Under-14 title.
