JAMMU, Oct 19: Member Parliament (MP), Jugal Kishore Sharma has been nominated as patron of Jammu and Kashmir Olympic Association (JKOA).
It was announced by president of the Association, Prof (Dr) Ashutosh Sharma in a meeting of the office bearers, held at Celebration Hall of Marble Market, here today.
Prof Sharma informed that the Member Parliament was invited as special guest in the meeting. The Member Parliament gave patient hearing to the issues raised by members of the Association and assured that he will arrange a meeting of delegation of JKOA with Lieutenant Governor regarding redressal of their genuine demands about sports. He also assured all possible help and cooperation to improve sports in J&K UT.
Hony general secretary, Dushyant Sharma stressed upon to resume sports activities in J&K UT as per the guidelines of MHA and Ministry of Sports GoI. He also praised the J&K Police for successful conducting of Water Sports and Cycling tournament in Kashmir valley.
During the meeting Kuldeep Handoo has also been nominated as chairman of technical committee of the J&K Olympic Association.
Kuldeep Singh Jamwal and Kiran Wattal along with others office bearers of various recognised Sports Associations were present during the meeting. Bhupinder Singh Tirthi, treasurer of JKOA presented vote of thanks.
