Srinagar, Apr 2: Depar-tment of Tourism in collaboration with JK Mountain Biking Association organised Mountain Biking event at Zarbarwan Park Nehru Park here today. Secretary Tourism Farooq Ahmad Shah flagged off the event at 9.30 am in presence of Director Tourism Kashmir Mahmood A Shah and Deputy Director Tourism Riyaz Ahmad.
The riders covered 15 km distance via Parimahal, Cheshmashahi, Botanical Garden, Tulip Garden, Karlsangri and returned back to Zarbarwan Park. Meanwhile Amir Asad of TCI Max Mehraj Qayoom were declare as Best Riders while as 87-yr-old Gulam Rasool was oldest cyclist in the event.
More than 40 riders from different affiliated clubs participated. Prisident JKMBA Asif Iqbal Burza hailed Tourism Department for creating Mountain Biking Rental Facility at Srinagar. He said In future Association will orgnise Mountain biking events at Phalgam, Gulmarg and Zabarwan Foothills Soon. while as Jamsheed Hero Cycles, Riyaz Wani Secetary JKMBA, Tariq Khan, A R Bhat, Umer Nabi, Ashiq and Mushtaq Ahmad Were also present on the occasion.
