JAMMU, Feb 9: As part of the celebration of the 30th National Road Safety Week, Motor Vehicles Department in association with Directorate of Sports and Physical Education organised bike rally from University of Jammu today evening.
More than 120 bikers including many young girls from different clubs participated in the rally which after starting from Jammu University went through different parts of parts of Jammu city and adjoining areas to educate the people about rules and regulations of traffic movement and spread the message particularly to young bike riders that how important it is take adequate safety measures and obey the traffic rules while on the road. The rally after making round of whole area culminated at Jammu University.
Transport Commissioner J&K while addressing the gathering lauded the role of the participating youths and hoped that their efforts will become fruitful in educating masses regarding the traffic norms.
Among others were present on the occasion included Regional Transport Officer Jammu, DR Kanethia, Assistant Transport Commissioner, Swarn Singh, ARTOs Motor Vehicles Inspectors, officials of the Department, Vikram Rathore of Reliance Motors and Pradeep Jain of Jainco Automobiles.
