JAMMU, Dec 24: The first ever official Alumni Meet of Model Academy was organised at Hotel Ritz Manor to celebrate eight decades of excellence in the field of education.
The event was attended by over 350 Alumni who had registered for the event. The alumni had travelled from far and wide from Mumbai to London to attend the Meet. The theme of the Alumni Meet was “Reconnect, Revive and Rejoice”.
Dr. Adit Gupta, Director MIER Group welcomed the distinguished guests and the Alumni to the event.
Ten prominent Alumni were also presented with the Distinguished Alumni Awards. These were Kanwar Sein Anand (Eminent citizen and Prominent Businessman), General J.J Singh (Former Chief of Army Staff and Governor of Arunachal Pradesh), Dr. Jitendra Singh MOS PMO, Mukesh Rishi (Noted Film Actor), Prof. Neelu Rohmetra (First Woman Director of IIM Sirmaur), Rakesh Gupta (President Chamber of Commerce and Industries Jammu), Sanjay Kaul (Country Manager, Apple India), Yogesh Manhas (Noted Photogropher), Anisha Safaya (Mrs India Universe 2017) and Dr. Arun.K Gupta (Eminent Education and Chairman MIER Group of Institutions).
Many old teachers and previous Principals of the school also attended the event.
The evening had power packed musical performances from Surpal and Group from Jammu, and Tanya Gupta from Mumbai who was also an alumni of the school.
Deepak Gupta a prominent poet from Delhi enthralled the audience with his satire and humorous performance.
There was an environment of excitement all around as the alumni meet gave an opportunity for all the old students to get together and relive the old times.
Later the students danced to the peppy numbers of the DJ and the evening ended with a dinner for all alumni.
The Platinum sponsorship for the mega event was done by Pearson and Krishna Automobiles and the Gold Sponsorship was given by M/s Angad Creations and Mulkhrah Ashok Kumar Jewellers. There were 8 Silver and 12 Bronze sponsors also. AVD Motion Pictures was the media partner for the event.
The event was streamed live on social media to cater to a larger audience and Alumni who could not attend the event.
The programme was compeered by Manju Vali, In-charge of the Co-curricular Committee.
