Model Academy holds Inter-School Symposium

JAMMU, Jan 29: To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Model Academy, the prestigious School of Model Institute of Education and Research (MIER), organized an Inter-School Symposium on the topic ‘Can Exuberance of Youth Provide an Answer to India’s Political Woes,” here today.
Dr Meenakshi Kilam, Director IQAC, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, while PardeepDutta, Bureau Chief, Times Now and Aseem Tandon, former president Rotary Club Jammu were the jury members.
Students from Model Academy, Delhi Public School, Tiny Tots, Jodhamal Public School, and Heritage School participated in the Symposium.
Dr Adit Gupta, Joint Director, MIER presented welcome address and laid emphasis on the pivotal role the youth play in shaping the future of the Country.
Dr Kilam in her address said that the youth have apathy towards politics and it is through education that they can become aware of their rights and duties.
Speaking on the occasion, Pardeep Dutta said that youth are the real leaders of the Country and the foundation of nation building starts with character building.
Meanwhile, Rhythm Babbar of Heritage School won the first prize whereas Sheena Bhat of Model Academy and Akanksha Sharma of Jodhamal Public School bagged second and third prize respectively.
Rupa Gupta, Principal, Model Academy presented the vote of thanks, while ManjuVali, incharge, cultural committee coordinated the event.
