AKHNOOR, June 9: During a function organised on the completion of a cricket tournament in village Jakhadi, Panchayat Targwal here today, MLA Akhnoor, Mohan Lal Bhagat presented trophies to the winner and runner-up teams.
The MLA also felicitated all the players by encouraging them and assured to give cricket kits to the youth.
On this occasion, the villagers demanded blacktopping of the road leading to village Jakhadi.
They also demanded a playground for the players and the MLA assured that a playground will be built soon by identifying Government land in Panchayat Targwal so that the younger generation becomes aware of sports instead of going towards drugs.
He said that they have resolved to make Akhnoor Constituency a model one and for that development work has been started in every Panchayat.
The MLA further said: “PM Modi led Government has started some development work plans for farmers, poor and helpless people and every needy person can take advantage of these schemes.”
DDC Bhushan Bal, former Sarpanch Prashant Sharma, Tilak Sharma, Ratan Lal, former Councilor, Rakesh Malhotra, Raju Master and others were also present on this occasion.
