MLA Gagan Bhagat throws open Bana Singh Indoor Stadium

JAMMU, June 5: Dr Gagan Bhagat, MLA R S Pura today opened the much awaited Param Vir Chakra Bana Singh Indoor Stadium in the presence of several youths and prominent persons of the area along with Sub-District Administration.
While addressing the gathering, Dr Gagan Bhagat said that it was very unfortunate that the stadium started four years back was not completed. He said that opening of this stadium will benefit local youth while students during this summer can now avail the full benefit of their vacations and nurture their talent.
Divisional Sports Officer, Rajan Sharma informed that the stadium will have various sports facilities like Judo, Table Tennis, Wrestling, Carrom, Chess, and many more will be added in the future as per the requirement of the sportspersons.
Dr Gagan Bhagat also gave directions to the officials to install water cooler along with water filter, fencing with barbered wire behind the stadium complex, power inverter, and shed in front of the Indoor stadium along with benches which can be used in waiting area. Dr Bhagat also directed to complete the work of earth filling in the main stadium, as there is a very big problem of water logging in the whole stadium and its adjoining areas.
Later, the MLA visited Tanda-Kotli Shah Doula Road to access the status of the macadamization work. On the occasion EO R S Pura Jodhraj, Tehsildaar R S Pura, SDPO R .S Pura, Divisional Sports Officer Rajan Sharma, SHO R S Pura, Harish Dayama, Xen (Sports Council),AEE (Sports Council), BDO R S Pura and others were also present.
