Mir tees-off Golf Tournament

SRINAGAR, Mar 30: Minister for Tourism Ghulam Ahmad Mir today tees-off the Spring Swing Golf Tournament at Royal Springs Golf Course (RSGC) here today.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Shalindar Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Farooq Ahmed Shah Director Tourism, Talat Parvez, Secretary RSGC Ghalib other dignitaries and large number of golfers were present on the occasion.
Mir while speaking on the occasion said that the event would help to promote the Valley as a golf tourist hotspot and a viable alternative to the more popular destinations in Europe for domestic tourists.
He said that the Valley’s favourable weather conditions and the excellent turf at RSGC will prompt foreign tourist particularly golfers to play this game here and explore their proficiency in the sport which is favourable for the economy of our State.
Meanwhile, Mir also participated in a Kashmir Tourist Summit on the topic entitled “Role of Tourists in our State Economy,” organized by J&K People’s Forum.
Later, DivisionalCommi-ssioner, Kashmir Shalindar Kumar distributed the trophies among the winners of the tournament, while Inspector General of Police, Abdul Gani Mir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Director Tourism, and Secretary RSGC were present on the occasion.
The Award ceremony function was organized by Directorate of Tourism with the collaboration of Association of Kashmir Tour Operators (AKTO) and J&K Federation of Tour Operators (JKFTO) at SKICC.
