Mir Iterat completes 1200 kms cycle ride

Srinagar, May 4: To create awareness among the youth about the menace of drugs in Kashmir, Mir Iterat Haideri, a young cyclist from Srinagar completed a 1200 kilometers cycle journey from Srinagar to Chandigarh and back.
Iterat started this journey from Srinagar’s Lal Bazar area on the second day of Eid and in this eight days journey, he cycled for seven consecutive days and stayed one day in Jammu and met with many youths so that the youth be aware of the bad effects of addiction.
He has been doing this kind of journey for the last three years so that the youth can be attracted to healthy activities instead of bad deeds.
The young cyclist had performed a unique feat during the winter even in the days of Chillai Kalan in extreme cold which had not been done by anyone in the whole of India till date. Iterat cycled from Srinagar to Gulmarg in minus 12 degrees Celsius amid snowfall to try to convey the message to youths that drugs are a scourge for the entire society and addicts are the cause of society’s downfall.
