JAMMU, Sept 26: In ‘Display Your Talent-2017-18’ organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, competitions of Mime, Mimicry, Mono-Acting, Collage-Making and Poster-Making were conducted at different venues at University of Jammu, here.
Dean Students Welfare, Prof Satnam Kour, Prof SK Pandita, Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee, Dr Parmil Kumar, Dr AR Manhas (Assistant Deans, Students Welfare), and various faculty members, students and scholars of the University of Jammu were present during the events.
In Mime, the first prize was won by GCW, Gandhi Nagar, while the second prize was bagged by GCW, Parade and the third prize went to the Department of ICCCR & HRM, JU. Certificate of Merit was awarded to GDC, Kathua.
In Mimicry, Hansja Sharma from GCW, Parade secured the first position and Certificate of Merit was awarded to Abhi Bargotra from SHTM, JU. In Mono-Acting, first position was clinched by Pragya from GCW, Parade, while the second and third prize was won by Rohan Sharma from SPMR College of Commerce and Shivansh from Govt MAM College. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Sonia Singh from GCW, Gandhi Nagar and Abhi Bargotra from SHTM, JU. Digvijay Singh, Vijay Atri, Janak Khajuria, Shuchi Chopra and Sanjeev Gupta were the Judges of the performing arts events and Dr Pallavi Sachdeva, Dr Purshottam Kumar and Dr Geeta were the Teachers In-charge.
In Collage-Making, the topics given to the candidates were ‘Cricket’, ‘Festival’ and ‘Digital India’. Bharti Heer and Parshottma Sharma both from the Law School, JU secured first and second positions respectively. The third prize was given to Bansuri Kalra from KC Law College. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Stanzin from Govt. MAM College, Richa Singhal from Department of Chemistry, JU and Shubham Dogra from Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology.
In Poster Making, the topics given to the candidates were ‘Swachhta Abhiyan’ & India in 2047.
Shivika Narania from GCW Parade, Muzaffar Ahmed Bhat from Institute of Music and Fine Arts and Sakshi Sharma from GDC Akhnoor were first, second and third respectively. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Mohinder Kumar from GGM Science College and Parshottma Sharma from The Law School, JU. Suman Gupta, Vijay Anand, MA Almansour, Manoj Chopra, Chander Shekhar and Suresh Sharma were the judges and Dr Madhulika Singh and Dr Harleen Kour were the Teachers In-charge of the Fine-Arts events.
The events were coordinated by Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor), while Divya Sharma, Aarti, Kanika Sharma, Mohit Mahajan, Pawan, Pallvi Kunwer, Ramnik, Sona, Megavika and Payal did the Hall Management.
