JAMMU, May 14: Outplaying their rivals convincingly in the semifinals, MHAC School Nagbani and KB Public School qualified for the finals of the ongoing District Level Inter School football competition, here today.
In the first semifinal, KB Public School blanked KC Public School by three goals to nil (3-0). Saqleen scored all three goals for the winners.
In another semifinal, MHAC Nagbani got better of Heritage School by two goals to one (2-1) in a close contest. Both the goals were scored by Manjit Singh for MHAC Nagbani.
Meanwhile, in football Under-17 boys, Heritage School beat Maharishi Vidhya Mandir by 3-1 goals via tie breaker as Shaurya, Shahbaz and Gourav pelted one goal each; BSF School Paloura drubbed APS Miran Sahib by a solitary goal, with Vinay of BSF Paloura scoring the lone goal and MHAC Nagbani thrashed DTM Convent Bishnah by four goals to nil (4-0) as Keshav netted 2 goals and Rahul and Ritvik Uppal scored one goal each.
The matches were officiated by Ajay Kumar, Bharat Bhushan, Rohit, Varinder, Gurbachan Singh, Amolak Singh, Mahadev, Jyoti and Ravinder Singh.
The tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports as a part of Annual calendar of Sports activities under the patronage of its Director General Navin Agarwal. Rishi Kumar, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu is the chairman and the tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Sukhdev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu.
