MGCA drubs JCC to win Patriots Cup

JAMMU, May 8: Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy (MGCA) defeated Jammu Cricket Club by 5 wickets to lift the title trophy of the Patriots Cup 50-Over Cricket Tournament, organised by Country Cricket Club at Country Cricket Stadium, Gharota, near here.
Batting first JCC scored 185 runs. Jatinder Singh top scored with 61 runs, while Aman Sharma contributed 19 runs to the total. From MGCA, Sahil Lotra took 4 wickets, while Pranav Mahajan and Rajiv Jamwal bagged 2 wickets each. Nityam and Sampark shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, MGCA reached the target easily after early hiccups-thanks to a brilliant century (108 runs) by Sahil Lotra. Ajay Sharma also contributed valuable 33 runs to the total. For his magnificent all-round display, Sahil Lotra was adjudged as the man of the series, while Musaif Ajaz was declared as the best batsman and Sampark Gupta as the best bowler.
Ace cricketer Ashwani Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion, who along with Sandeep Singh, Secretary Country Cricket Academy and senior cricketer Sham Singh Langeh distributed trophies and other prizes among the teams/players.
