MET Thannamandi celebrates 41st Foundation Day

RAJOURI, Nov 1: Muslim Educational Trust, Baba Ghulam Shah Academy, Thannamandi,  Rajouri celebrated its 41st Foundation Day  today  with full  fervour and gaiety.
Colourful  cultural  items were presented  by the students  of the  school.
Prof.  Javaid Musarat,  Vice Chancellor  Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri  was the chief guest on the occasion while K K Kapoor, prominent educationist and  social worker of Pirpanchal  region presided over the function.
In his well come address,   the  founder of the   institution, Khurshid Ahmed  Bismil  highlighted the concept of  modern education. He spelled out in detail the role of Muslim Educational Trust  in bringing  educational renaissance in Pirpanchal region  and in the  establishment of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University,  Rajouri  Chief guest  in his  address  lauded vehemently the role of  this educational trust in uplifting  the status of  Muslims in general and of Pirpanchal  region in particular  in the field of education.  He also donated Rs 10,000  for  library of the institution.
Later  prizes were  given  by him to  all toppers of the  school  in  academic  and cultural  activities.
One of  the important  event of the function  was  presentation  ceremony  of the  M.D. Bandey  Memorial Award which this  institution  gives on its annual  day  to any  personality of the Pirpanchal   region  for his/her outstanding  contribution  in the field of education  and social  work.  This year it was given to Kewal Krishan Kapoor of Poonch, retired Chief Education  Officer.
