BHADERWAH/JAMMU/ UDHAMPUR, June 24: Former Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), Mehboob Iqbal inaugurated District Level JKCA Premier Championship in an impressive and well attended function at Degree College ground, Bhadeerwah, while Karail CC trounced Shiva Cricket Club by 8 wickets in Akhnoor Tehsil JKCA Premier Championship at Jammu and Singh Cricket Club outplayed United CC by 3 wickets at Udhampur.
20 teams are participating in the tournament being played at Bhaderwah.
The Championships serve as an opportunity for the participating players to showcase their talent and reserve berth as probable for JKCA.
The Championships across Jammu Province are being supervised by Members of JKCA Committee namely Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal and Sham Saroop Kalsotra, under the Administration of Justice CK Prasad, retired Judge of the Supreme Court and Justice Syed Rafat Alam, Chief Justice of MP and Allahabad High Courts and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) JKCA, Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, retired DIG.
During the inaugural ceremony at Bhaderwah, the chief guest, Mehbool Iqbal was accompanied by Prof SS Bhalwal, Principal, Govt Degree College, Bhaderwah, Col DD Panday, Commanding Officer (4RR), Pawan Parihar, ADC, Rajinder Singh, ASP and Rajinder Khajuria, CEO, BDA as the guests of honour.
The inaugural function was arranged by Sameer Malik, Coordinator, Doda-Bhaderwah District Tournament Organizing Committee and its Executive members formed by J&K Cricket Association.
The inaugurated match was played between Young Star Doda and Degree College, Bhaderwah which was won by Young Star Doda by 3 wickets.
