Mehak declared ‘Voice of Bhaderwah’

BHADERWAH, July 27: Mehak Gupta of Udhampur was today declared as ‘Voice of Bhaderwah’, as 4 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) today organized the grand finale of singing competition ‘Talent Hunt’ in Lal-ded Auditorium of Bhaderwah Campus.
Seven singers including two girls and five boys competed in the grand finale which was comprised of two rounds. Talented singers enthralled the packed auditorium with their scintillating performances.
Commander, 4 RR, Rohit Notiyal, was the chief guest on the occasion while Principal, Degree College Bhaderwah, Prof Zaheer Abbas Hashmi, was the guest of honour.
In the first round, young and aspiring singers presented devotional songs and in the second round participants competed in filmy songs.
Young guitarist and amateur vocalist of Bhaderwah Valley also showcased their talent during the finale and left the audience spellbound with their performance.
Brigadier Rohit Notiyal was all praise for the young singers and assured them that Army will try its best to provide them a bigger and better platform which will not only help them to groom their talent but also pave a way for them to become a professional singer.
After their individual performance, all the seven finalists and a local Ghazal Singer, Sajad Fareed, presented a medley which received standing ovation from audience and judges.
Jury members including Brigader Rohit Notiyal, CO, 4RR, Colnel Ravi and Principal, GDC, Prof Zaheer Abbas Hashmi adjudged Mehak Gupta of Udhampur as Best Singer and voice of Bhaderwah while Rafaqat Rasool and Tousef Zargar were declared as Best Guitarist and Youth Icon, respectively.
Brigader Rohit Notiyal presented trophies and citations to the winners and certificates to all the participants.
