MBS Club, Zorawar HC register emphatic wins

JAMMU, Jan 31: MBS Hockey Club, Simbal Camp and Zorawar Hockey Club Satwari got better of their rivals in the ongoing Jammu District Senior Hockey Tournament, being organized by Hockey J&K at KK Hakhu Astroturf Stadium, here.
In the first match, MBS Club defeated Ajit Club Gole Gujral by three goals to two (3-2). For MBS, Ramneek scored the first goal in 15th minute, while Gaganjeet netted the two back to back goals in 23rd and 26th minutes respectively. Gaganjeet and Harjeet scored the goals for Ajit Club in 40th and 44th minutes respectively.
In another match, Zorawar Hockey Club Satwari defeated Kathua Hockey Club Lachipora by four goals to two (4-2). Shivay and Lakhvinder scored 2 goals each for Zorawar Club, while the goal scorers for Kathua Hockey Club were Sandeep Singh and Rajesh Singh, who netted them in 28th and 59th minutes.
The matches were officiated by Satvir Singh, Iqbal Singh, Joginder Singh, Karanjit Singh and JS Reen.
Jaswant Singh, Senior Vice President was the chief guest on the occasion, while prominent among others present on the occasion were Rajinder Singh, GS Bakshi and Vijay Vaid.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Hiranagar Hockey Club will take on Vijaypur Warriors at 1:30 pm and Khalsa Club Gole Gujral will lock horns with Samba Club at 2:30 pm.
