Massive programme undertaken for upgrading sports infra: Sagar

SRINAGAR, Aug 13: Minister for Rural Development & Panchayats, Ali Mohammad Sagar today inspected various sports stadia being developed and upgraded in the Srinagar city.
He was accompanied by senior officers of different departments like J&K Sports Council, UEED, SMC etc.
While inspecting the pace of work on the stadium at Baghe Dilawar Khan in the old city, the Minister directed the officers to speed up the levelling and other related things so that the youth of the area get the requisite facilities for showcasing and polishing their sports talent.
“The Government has undertaken a massive programme for upgrading the sports infrastructure across the State, so that the youth get the requisite facilities for honing their talent and skills. Several sports person of the State have made their mark at national and international level and brought laurels to their respective divisions and areas”, he maintained.
Mr Sagar also inspected the pavilion being constructed at Radapora Stadium and directed for its early completion.
The Minister also visited the Zinda Shah Stadium and directed the officers for speeding up the levelling of the sports field so that the same can be utilised by the youth.
