HIRANAGAR, Apr 25: Maskeen Ali, student of Government Model Middle School, Hiranagar was declared the best athlete in Under-14 Boys section, while Vicky Kumar of GHSS Marheen was declared best in under-17 boys in the ongoing Inter-School Zone Level Athletic Meet, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Hiranagar zone at Sports Stadium, here today.
The Meet is being organized under the guidance of DYSSO Kathua, Subash Chander Bhardwaj and under the supervision of ZPEO Hiranagar, Sukesh Kumar.
A total of 90 athletes drawn from 28 schools of the zone participated in the event.
In Under-14 boys, 100 metre sprint, Maskeen Ali bagged gold, while Romit Sharma of GHS Chadwal clinched silver, while in 200 metres, Maskeen Ali and Abhi Kumar of GMS Gialwand claimed first and second spot resepctively.
In 400 metres, Antriksh Kumar of GMS Pansar won first place and Rupesh Kumar of GMS Tuthachack claimed second spot.
In 600 metres, Rahul Kumar of GMS Pheruchack won gold, while Nikhil Diwan of GMS Ward No-3 Hiranagar won silver.
The gold medals in Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, High Jump and Long Jump went to Dipanshu Bhagat of BVM, Hiranagar, Vipan Chalotra of Government Middle School Marheem, Vipan Chalotra of GMS Marheen, Maskeen Ali of Government Model Middle School Hiranagar and Karan Kumar of GMS Marheen respectively.
