Manik to take on Vipan in Junior Snooker final

JAMMU, Sept 6: Manik Sharma outplayed Rohit Chowdhary by 3-2 frames to take on Vipan Malhi in the final of the ongoing Junior Snooker, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA) under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
In the first frame, Manik lost to Rohit by 87-51, while the game was equalized by Manik after  winning the second frame by 54-33. Manik kept the winning pace alive by winning the third frame by 59-42, but Rohit again bounced back and won the fourth frame by 68-30. In the decider frame, both the cueists displayed excellent skills, but confident Manik registered win by 59-48 and entered into the final.
Meanwhile, in the first round of senior snooker, Manav Gupta beat Shubham Dogra by 2-1 frames, while Gagandeep Singh registered win over Varun Jamwal by straight 2-0 frames.
Pankaj thrashed Sahil Dogra by 2-1, while Adnan beat Amaedeep Singh by 2-1 and Kuldeep Singh crushed Sourab Sharma by 2-1. Shehwal Mehmood defeated Abhirath by 2-1.
