JAMMU, Sept 8: MAM College and P G Department lifted the title trophies in the Inter- Collegiate Handball Tournament 2014-15 in men and women sections respectively, at Jammu University ground, here.
The Tournament was organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, under the overall supervision of its Director, Dhian S Bhau.
In the women’s section, PG Department outplayed Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar by a big margin of goals 6 goals (12-6) in the summit clash, while in men’s section, MAM College beat GGM Science College by 6 goals (20-14) to win the title.
Earlier, in the men’s semifinals, MAM College beat GDC Kathua and GGM Science College beat GDC Paloura.
Prof Keshav Sharma, Controller of Examinations, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed the trophies among the winners, while Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu presided over the function.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Dr Vinod Bakshi, Sumnesh Sharma and Balbir Singh Chib (Physical Directors), besides Goutam Sharma, Vikesh Sharma, Raj Kumar, Ravish Vaid, Gagan Kumar, P D Singh and Jai Bharat.
The matches were officiated by Gourav Sharma, Jyoti Sharma and Taqdir Singh Charak.
The finals of the tournament were conducted by Vikas Karlopia.
