JAMMU, July 28: Minister for Higher Education, Labour and Employment Abdul Ghani Malik today visited GGM Science College and inaugurated newly built Gymnasium Hall in which modern equipments for the sports activities have been installed.
While speaking, Malik stressed upon the importance of Gymnasium and asked the students to make maximum use of the facilities available in the College.
Later, he released the first ever-special edition of the College Magazine “Tawi” and calendar of the new Academic Session.
He lauded the efforts of College administration and editorial board in bringing out the special science edition.
Malik expressed hope that publication of the Magazine will go a long way in evoking the interest in students in science and motivate them to undertake high quality research in pure and applied sciences.
Earlier, Principal of the College Dr Satinder Singh presented the welcome address and gave detailed report of the College in academic and extracurricular activities.
Dr SP Saraswat, convener of the Magazine Committee and Principal, GDC, Kilhotran also spoke on the occasion.
The programme was anchored by Dr Alpana Vohra while Dr Vandana Khajuria presented vote of thanks.
After releasing the magazine, Abdul Gani Malik took a round in the College Campus to look into the problem of various departments. He assured all the administrative support to the college management for the overall development of college.
