Malhotra interacts with Kerala’s senior women team

JAMMU, Mar 21: Former international footballer and member technical of All India Football Federation (AIFF), Arun Sharma from Jammu today interacted with Kerala senior football team at Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE), Trivandrum in Kerala during his visit, today.
The Kerala senior national team is going to participate in the tournament, scheduled to be held at Uttarakhand.
During the interaction, officials from Kerala Football Association, Councils and Director LNCPE Pradeep Dutta and chief coach Narinder Gangwar along with sports staff were present. While talking with players, Arun said, “Kerala has a great history of football and produced players like I M Vijayan, Jo Paul Ancheri, M Suresh and many more who made their name at the international level.”
He also informed that the upcoming two senior national football championships will be played in a new format, wherein 36 States will fight against each other in six groups to make place in the finals.
The six group toppers, along with three best second-placed teams will qualify for the final rounds of the Hero Senior Men’s National Football Championship and Santosh Trophy, while six group toppers and the four best second-placed teams will make it to the final rounds of the Hero Senior Women’s National Football Championship.
It is pertinent to mention here that J&K is in Group IV, wherein Jharkhand, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Ladakh were also part of the group.
