Mahir selected for Indian U-19 Volleyball Coaching Camp

SRINAGAR, May 13: In a major achievement, Mahir Wani, a talented volleyball player (blocker) from Srinagar, has been selected for the Indian Under-19 men’s volleyball coaching camp, ahead of the upcoming CAVA Men’s Volleyball Championship.
Mahir, who captained the Jammu and Kashmir team to a gold medal at the 7th Khelo India Youth Games held in Patna, Bihar, has previously represented India in the Under-18 Men’s Volleyball Team during the Asian Championship in Bahrain last year.
He is among the 24 players selected from across India to participate in this prestigious coaching camp. Notably, Mahir is the only player from Jammu and Kashmir in the squad. After the camp, only 14 players will be finalized to represent India at the CAVA Men’s Volleyball Championship, scheduled to take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Mahir’s selection is a testament to his dedication, discipline, and growing reputation in Indian volleyball. A strong performance during the camp could earn him a place in the final team, offering him a valuable opportunity to showcase his talent on the international stage.
