Maharashtra emerges champion in 27th Atya Patya Nationals

JAMMU, Aug 5: Outplaying Karnataka in the summit clash, Maharashtra won the title trophy of the 27th Junior Boys and Girls Atya Patya National Championship, organized by J&K Atya Patya Association in collaboration with Atya Patya Federation of India, which concluded at GGM Science College, here today.
Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Deputy Commissioner Jammu was the chief guest on the valedictory function, while Satpal Lakhotra Ex-MLA, was the guest of honour.
Mr  Sahu while appreciating the efforts of organizers for smooth and successful conduct of the event said that sports and games play a pivotal role in good health of a person.
On the concluding day, Maharashtra secured Ist place, while 2nd place was bagged by Karnataka, 3rd  place by Puducherry and 4th place by Tamil Nadu.
Earlier, Maharashtra beat  Karnataka by 2-1, Puducherry got better of Tamil Nadu by 2-0,
In girls section, 1st place was bagged by Maharashtra, 2nd place by Puducherry, 3rd place by Karanataka and 4th place by Uttar Pradesh. Maharashtra beat Puducherry by 2-0, while Karnataka beat Uttar Pradesh by 2-0.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Dr Ashutosh Sharma, Dr SM Bali, Ajay Sharma, Waseem Raja, Sr vice president, Atya Patya Association.
Vote of thanks was presented by Dr Vinod Bakshi, president Atya Patya Association and Director Physical Education GGM Science College, Jammu.
