Maharashtra cyclist begins K2K 8-days cycling expedition

SRINAGAR, Nov 13: Setting his eyes to break Guinness Book of World Record, Maharashtra cyclist, Om Mahajan today began 8-days cycling expedition from Kashmir to Kanyakumari (K2K).
Adventurer Om Mahajan from Nasik, Maharashtra started his cycling expedition at 6:21 am which was flagged off by Jammu and Kashmir Mountaineering and Hiking Club (JKMHC) president from historic Clock Tower, Lal Chowk.
Several JKMHC members were also present on the occasion and appreciated him for his endeavour.
He is attempting to break the Guinness Book of World Records for completing the distance in minimum possible time which is right now held by Lt Col Bharat Pannu who paddled the same distance of 3604 kms from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in 8 days, 9 hours and 48 minutes.
Om Mahajan has scheduled to paddle for around 22 hours daily and cover 450 kilometres distance in an effort to break the record by covering the distance within 8 days.
“My uncle has already done this which has motivated him to do this,” said Mahajan.
RJ Nissar, Riyaz Wani, Syed Tahir, Yasir Makhdoomi, AR Bhat, Zeeshan Mushtaq, Jagjit Singh, Umer Nabi and Sajad Kralyari were also present on the occasion.
