MACC Chandigarh outplays J&K Home Guard XI by 70 runs

KATHUA, Dec 17: Minerva Academy Cricket Club Chandigarh defeated J&K Home Guard XI by a big margin of 69 runs in the ongoing 6th Police Martyr Memorial North Zone Inter Club T20 Cricket Championship, being played at Sports Stadium, here.
Earlier, Minerva Academy Cricket Club Chandigarh won the toss and elected to bat first and set a target of 164 runs by losing 5 wickets in 20 overs.  Kuldip Hudda scored 47 runs off 49 balls with 3 boundaries, while Gurinder Singh contributed 46 runs in just 24 balls with 2 sixes and 5 boundaries. Mehjoor of J&K Home Guard took 2 wickets by giving away only 13 runs, with 1 maiden over.
J&K Home Guard XI while chasing the target scored only 94 runs in 15 overs and lost all their wickets, thus lost the match by 69 runs.
Gurinder Singh of Minerva Academy Cricket Club Chandigarh was declared as man of the match and was presented a cash prize of Rs. 1500 and a trophy.
