JAMMU, Oct 31: Skipper Sahil Lotra slammed unbeaten century, while opening batsman GR Magray scored splendid 43 and promising all-round Yogesh Sikka is batting on unbeaten 49 runs as Jammu and Kashmir managed to score a formidable total of 251 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in an Under-16 boys 3-day match against formidable Delhi at Stephens College ground, Delhi.
Lotra was batting on 102 runs and Sikka on 49 when the stumps were drawn on day-1 today.
Earlier, wining the toss and batting first, J&K began the innings cautiously with openers-batting mainstay GR Magray and debutant Sarthak Peshin taking the score to 25 runs before Peshin lost his wicket cheaply for 12 runs, bringing in skipper Sahil Lotra, who along with Magray, who has been consistent throughout the tournament, consolidated the innings and took the score to 77 runs, before the dismissal of Magray. Majib-ul-Haq also contributed valuable 27 runs to the team’s cause. However, J&K lost 2 quick wickets in Zamin Zahid and Vivrant Sharma, who fell cheaply, but all-rounder Yogesh Sikka and Lotra played some brilliant cricket and took the team’s total to respectable 251 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.
It is pertinent to mention here that talented Sahil Lotra after scoring a masterful 55 in the first innings of the first match of the season was struggling for form and struck form in the ongoing last match of the season with a cracking century.
