JAMMU, Mar 9: Trouncing Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Nagrota in a close contest by 2 wickets, Lions Cricket Club (LCC) Bohri sealed berth in the finals of the ongoing Salute & Tribute to Martyrs Jammu District Rural Cricket Tournament today and will take on Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor in the summit clash at Parade Ground here on March 11, 2018.
Earlier, in the 2nd semifinal, winning the toss and batting first, YSCC Nagrota scored a modest total of 127 runs in 22.2 overs. Vishal Singh was the top scorer with 45 runs, studded with 5 boundaries. Naresh Kundal, Sahil Raina and Rajinder Singh contributed 16, 15 and 11 runs to the total respectively. Naman took 2 wickets, while Ritik, Ashwin and Abhinav claimed one wicket each for LCC Bohri.
In reply, Lions Cricket Club chased the target in 20.2 overs by losing 8 wickets, thus won the match by 2 wickets. Abhinav Khajuria scored brilliant 51 runs with the help of 6 boundaries and 2 sixes, while Rohan Koul also contributed valuable 31 runs with 5 boundaries. Anuj Raian and Rahul Kachroo chipped in with 11 and 9 runs respectively. For YSCC Nagrota, Rajinder took 3 wickets, while Rahul and Surinder shared 2 wickets each.
The match was officiated by Rajesh Jaitley and Kapil Mahajan as umpires, while the Tournament is being organized by Jammu District Cricket Alliance, under the aegis of Parade Sports Association, under the overall supervision of Vijay Sabarwal, President PSA and Chairman of the Organising Committee.
