LEH, Oct 1: Under the order of JKCA with approval from Cricket Association of Ladakh (CAL), the 15 JKCA registered teams from Leh had unanimously decided to nominate and elect Padma Tamchos (Atam) as the President of Leh District Cricket Association.
The election was held today under the supervision of Electoral Officer Advocate Stanzin Dawa and Dr Sonam Angchok Election Observer JKCA in the presence of Abdul Wahid, Naib Tehsildar-Leh (1st Class Executive Magistrate) and Ashiq Malik, DySP DAR, Ladakh Police.
The election process was conducted smoothly and other office bearers were also elected with Anis Ul Rehman as vice president, Rigzin Spalgon as Secretary, Tonyout Namgyal as Joint Secretary and Wasim Akram Malik as Treasurer.
This is the first time, a formal election was conducted by JKCA in Leh district after the dissolution of the former executive body of JKCA, and following a High Court order to conduct fresh elections in all the Districts affiliated to BCCI through JKCA.
