Lal Singh inaugurates 3-day State Kabaddi Championship

JAMMU, Feb 26: In order to channelize energy of youth in right direction, Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment Lal Singh today inaugurated 3-day long State Kabaddi Championship at M A Stadium.
The State Kabaddi Championship has been organized by Kabaddi Association Kathua headed by Chairman Rajinder Singh Bhabbi. In the championship, 24 boys and girls players of district Kathua are participating.
Addressing people at the event, Choudhary Lal Singh said that Government intends to upgrade and strengthen sports infrastructure in the State and for this Government has devised an action plan under which systematic up-gradation steps are being taken up.
The Minister highlighted various initiatives being taken up by the Government for providing all requisite facilities to the players living in rural areas and far pockets of the State.  He said that the Government is making concentrated efforts for developing sports infrastructure in the state with special emphasis on traditional sports in the state. He wished great success to the players and asked the youth to take up sports to lead a healthy life.
Lal Singh said that these type of events provide an opportunity to budding players to showcase their talent. He said that these events help in promoting friendly relationship among the people of different culture and traditions.
President State Kabaddi Championship Kuldeep Singh, Secretary Gulzar Ahmed, Coach Yograj Sharma besides a large number of locals were present on the occasion.
