JAMMU, July 26: 48th KVS Regional Sports Meet in Kho – Kho Under-14 and Under-19 boys ended with great enthusiasm and exhilaration at Kendriya Vidyalaya Bantalab, here today.
169 students with17 teacher escorts drawn from 12 different Kendriya Vidyalayas participated in this 3-day Meet .
V. Santhosh Kumar, Principal KV Bantalab was the chief guest on the Valedictory function.
After the welcome address by Romi Amrit, Vice-Principal, a beautiful cultural programme was presented by the students.
In Under-14 boys, KV No-1 Pathankot won the gold medal, while KV Miran Sahib team and KV Baramulla emerged as Second and third rank holders to win silver and bronze medals respectively.
In Under-19 boys, KV Bantalab won the gold medal, while KV Miran Sahib and KV Lakhanpur claimed silver and bronze medals respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest congratulated the participants for their vigour, stamina and exuberant participation.
He also emphasized the role of indomitable physique for the smooth functioning of the sound mind.
The programme ended with the vote of thanks presented by Romi Amrit.
Meanwhile, Kendriya Vidyalaya Lakhanpur organized the 48th Regional Sports Meet Kho-Kho event for Under-14 and Under-19 girls.
209 girls participated in the event escorted by 20 teachers drawn from 17 Schools of Jammu Region.
The Closing ceremony was chaired by Col. Ashish Borgaonkar, CO, 172, Medium Regiment, Basoli Camp as Chief Guest.
DR Patel, the Principal of KV Lakhanpur presented welcomed address.
The students presented cultural items comprising of Group Song, Patriotic Song sung by Pankaj Kumar and Astha Tripathi, Music Teachers attributed to Indian Army Martyrs on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Divas.
The chief guest gave away the trophies to the winners in both the categories.

48th Regional Sports Meet in the disciplines of Basketball and Kabaddi Under-19 boys concluded at KV-1 Udhampur with pomp and show today.
Principal of the School, Rajesh Pandey presented medals and certificates to the students on the occasion.
