UDHAMPUR, Feb 22: Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Udhampur today celebrated birth anniversary of the founder of World Scouting Movement, Lord Baden Powell as World Thinking Day here.
The programme began with the welcome of chief guest, Principal of KV Udhampur, Sumit Mehra, Vikramaditya and Minakshi Sharma who were adorned with scarves by Sanjay Kohli, In-charge of Scouts and Guides, Raman Kumar and Shaveta.
The function started with offering flowers to the portrait of Lord Baden Powell, followed by the scouts masters took an oath of honest, kind hearted and always ready to help.
Various competitions like drawing, yells and story-telling were also conducted during the occasion. All the scout masters and guide captains of the Vidyalaya including Raman Kumar, Ravi Kant, Lakhbir Singh, Rajiv Singh, Vinod Raina, Shaveta, Niharika, Sanju Singh, Rosy, Lalita, Alisha, Sakshi and, Manjeet contributed to make the programme a grand success.
The Cubs Bulbul of KV No 2, Udhampur also participated in the event with great enthusiasm and zeal. The active participation of Guide Captain and Flock Leader of KV No 2, Kanchan and Ritu was appreciated by the school management.
In the end, the principal of the school enlightened the gathering with the principles of Lord Baden Powell.
