KV GC hosts 50th JNNSMEE, RBVP

JAMMU, May 3: Kendriya Vidyalaya Group Centre Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Bantalab hosted a one-day Regional level 50th Jawaharlal Nehru National Science Mathematics and Environment Exhibition (JNNSMEE) and 50th Rashtriya Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshani (RBVP), here today.
The exhibition aimed at providing a common platform to various schools, teachers and students to exhibit their innovative ideas and learn from a gamut of science enthusiasts present under one roof.
The theme of the exhibition was ‘Technology and Toys’, wherein 196 students from 31 Kendriya Vidyalayas of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Jammu region presented their skills under the seven sub-themes, displaying an array of projects conceived by the young minds.
In addition to the exhibits, two students and one teacher from each Vidyalaya presented PowerPoint Presentation during the seminar on the topic ‘Scientific Innovations for Sustainable Future.’ The occasion was graced by 18 eminent judges from the field of Science and Technology who gave their valuable inputs to the students and lauded their exceptional efforts in presenting their projects.
These exhibits were modelled to provide solutions to many present and future socio-economic problems.
The host Vidyalaya Principal, Suraj Prasad welcomed the chief guest, G.S. Mehta, Assistant Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Jammu Region, guest of honour, Monika Gupta, Professor (Chemistry), Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College, Jammu and special invitee,  Dr. Suphla Gupta, Senior Scientist, CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).
He also thanked the panel of judges from CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) and Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College, Jammu, for sparing the time out and judging the event with patience and grace.
The chief guest in his address emphasized upon the importance of science in our daily lives and expressed his belief that it is the reason for our existence in today’s day and age. He extolled the efforts of all those who worked tirelessly to give a tough competition to the others albeit learning a lot from their competitors.
The event ended with a vote of thanks presented by Minakshi Talwar, PGT English.
