KPPL organisers hold Captains meet, releases fixture

JAMMU, Oct 25: The organisers of Kashmiri Pandit Premier League (KPPL) organised Captains meet and released fixture of the upcoming cricket tournament to be scheduled from November 15 at KC Sports Club Ground, here today
After holding threadbare discussions with the representatives of all the participating 16 teams and taking their valid points into account, the organisers finalized the fixture and released the same around 25 days before the commencement of this mega event.
In this league-cum-knockout fixture, the 16 teams have been grouped in four pools, wherein after “all play all pattern”, the top two teams in each pool will qualify for the quarterfinals, to be followed by the semis and the finals.
Important to mention here that top Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has consented to be the chief guest on the closing ceremony of the event.
“Yes we have invited star Indian cricketer, Suresh Raina to grace the concluding function of the event. It will be a great honour for all the cricketers to receive awards from this legendary cricketer,” said one of the organisers, Rajesh Dhar.
He said the matches will be officiated by a panel of experts including BCCI level-II umpires Sudhir Singh and Amit Gupta, besides other experienced technical penal including Balkrishan Tickoo, Ajay Raina, Sanjay Raina and Vijay Raina will be part of the tournament.
