JAMMU, Dec 27: The Pathways International School, Kathua today organized a grand function at the School campus to celebrate Kissan Diwas and Christmas and to acquaint the students with understanding the significance of Farmer’s Day, both here today. Sandeep Chowdhary, HoD, English Department, Govt. Degree College, Kathua, was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Ghanshaam (Social Worker) was the guest of honour. Dr. Divij Suri, Chairman, The Pathways International School, Dr. SP Suri, Retd. HoD, Department of Education, University of Jammu and Kunal Anand, Principal, The Pathways International School, were also present on the occasion. The function began with the lighting of the traditional ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries.
The students of the Primary Section presented one act play, depicting various steps in involved in the irrigation process, from the preparation of soil for farming to the final harvest of the crop. Another play was staged by the students of Class 3 to 5 on the significance of farming and farmers. The little toddlers mesmerized the audience with an extraordinary dance performance. Ms. Nitika Sharma presented a detailed speech on importance of Kissan Diwas.
In the latter part of the function, the students presented a colorful and joyous program on Christmas. The toddlers danced to the tunes of ‘Dashing through the snow’ & other Christmas Carols, alongwith other breathtaking performances. The students of Primary Section also presented a Fusion Dance, a blend of semi classical and jazz and totally stole the show, with their outstanding performance.
Sandeep Chowdhary, HoD English, GDC. Kathua, in his address, spoke to students about the importance of farmers in our country and their contribution in our day to day lives.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Divij Suri, Chairman, The Pathways International School, said that agriculture employs more than half of the Indian population and that farmers are the backbone of our economy.
The chief guest and other dignitaries presented prizes to the winners of various competitions organized in the School, in the month of December. At the end of the Program students wished everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, in yet another mesmerizing dance performance.
