Kishtwar students shine in 24th National Youth Festival

KISHTWAR, Dec 30: Students of Kishtwar excelled in 24th National Youth Festival, organised by Department of Youth services and Sports at Jammu from December 28 to 29.
All ten districts of J&K participated in inter division competition where students of District Kishtwar bagged 1st position in Folk song and Flute playing, besides 2nd position in Folk Dance.
The Padderi Folk song “Ounchay Pahaado Becche Kaan Chedi Thaira o Paddar o Hyara Paddara o….” presented by the Kishtwar students, describes the beauty, culture and communal harmony of Tehsil Padder.
The Padderi folk dance was also presented by the students attired in colourfull traditional Padderi dress.
Clinching of the 1st and 2nd ranks was a proud moment for the Kishtwar students, who attained the feat with the efforts of District Youth Services & Sports Department, said DYSSO, Kharati Lal Sharma.
All the students of Kishtwar have been selected for inter state competition which is scheduled to be held from December 30, to January 8, 2021 at Jammu. The exceptional performance was performed under the supervision of Ram Loki Physical Education Teacher/Incharge activity of Zone Padder and Salma Butt (REK).
