Khelo India Football commences at Hiranagar, concludes at Dedu

KATHUA, Feb 8: Football Tournament played under the scheme ‘Khelo India’ got underway at Hiranagar zone in Kathua and concluded at Dedu zone in Udhampur.
MLA Hiranagar, Kuldeep Raj inaugurated Football tournament for boys and girls being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme Let’s Play Co-branded by Khelo India under the guidance of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kathua Subash Chander Bhardwaj and supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officer Hiranagar, Sukesh Kumar at Sports Stadium Hiranagar.
On the first day of tournament the matches for under 12 and under 16 years boys were played in which 102 already online registered players participated.
The inaugural match was played between Government Middle School Marheen and Sai International School Hiranagar for under-12 boys in which Sai International School Hiranagar trounced Government Middle School Marheen.
Meanwhile, at Dedu in Udhampur, the Khelo India Tournament was held under the overall supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Udhampur, Sudesh Chalotra and under the supervision of ZPEO Dedu, Usha Kumari.
The Tournament concluded at Government Higher Secondary School Latti.
In 6-12 years, HS Chappar defeated MS Pundle by 2 goals, while in 13-16, ms Latti drubbed HS Chappar by 2 goals to nil (2-0).
The matches were officiated by Bikram Singh, Abid Kant, Iftikar Malik and Anchal Singh.
