Khalsa Club defeats Blue CC in T20 Holi Cup

JAMMU, Feb 14: Extraordinary team effort helped Khalsa Cricket Club to thrash Blue Cricket Club to enter into the next round of the ongoing Holi Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, being held at Mandal Cricket ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Khalsa Club rode on a swashbuckling knock of 75 by Sonu to post a mammoth total of 224 runs on the board in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Sonu hit 6 fours and 5 sixes in his 36-ball power-packed knock, while Harpreet and Vivek contributed well-made 30 runs each. For Blue Club, Pramod, Ishan and Ankush took 2 wickets each, while Sunil claimed one wicket.
In reply, Blue Cricket Club managed to score 171 runs in the allotted 20 overs by losing 9 wickets to lose the match by a huge margin of 113 runs. Sunil top scored with quick-fire 40 runs off 23 balls, studded with 8 boundaries, while Atul, Ashish and Anshul contributed 23, 22 and 16 runs to the total respectively. Vicky and Harpreet captured 3 wickets each for Khalsa Club, while Sonu claimed 2 wickets.
The match was officiated by Rakesh Bawa and Gulshan Kumar as umpires, while Sachin Singh maintained the scorebook.
