‘Sarbat Da Bhalaa’ Hockey Tournament

JAMMU, Oct 21: Khadur Sahib Hockey Academy defeated Gurdaspur Hockey XI by five goals to two (5-2), while Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd Patiala drubbed Pathankot Hockey XI by four goals to two (4-2) in the ongoing ‘Sarbat Da Bhalaa’ Hockey Tournament at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here.
Vikas Rana, Balkar Singh, Goutam Kumar, Charanjit Singh and Sarbjit Singh from Khadur Sahib team scored one goal each, while S. Jashan Deep Singh scored the goal for Gurdaspur XI.
KS Risam, Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu was the chief guest in the first match while SSP Jammu S. Tejinder Singh was the chief guest and S. Swarn Singh Assistant Commissioner Transport was the guest of honour in the second match played between PSPCL and Pathankot XI.
In the other match, Rajesh Kumar scored the 1st goal, Jatin Kumar netted three goals and the last goal was scored by Ravinder Singh from Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd, while from Pathankot XI Ramaji and Rajesh Kumar scored 1 goal each.
Balkar Singh of Khadur Sahib and Jatin Kumar from PSPCL, Patiala were adjudged as the man of the match in their respective matches.
The matches were supervised by umpires Karanjit Singh, Jagjit Singh Manjit Singh, J.S Reen, Dalbir Mehta, Gurjit Singh, Charanjit Singh, Iqbal Singh & tournament Director S. Satvir Singh Satti.
In tomorrow’s fixture, the first match will be played between Guru Nanak Club and Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd Patiala and 2nd match between BSF Jammu and SGPC Hockey Academy Amritsar, while the third match will be held between Khalsa Club and Peaks XI Kashmir.
