JAMMU, Nov 9: KC Sports Club and Country Cricket Academy registered emphatic wins over their rivals and entered in the next round of the ongoing 3rd Eid Diwali Milan T20 Cricket Cup at Gulshan Ground, here today.
The first match was played between United Blues XI and KC Sports Club, wherein KC Sports Club defeated United Club by 4 wickets. Batting first, United Blues XI scored a decent total of 170 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for loss of 5 wickets, with Ahmer scoring 85 of 53 balls and Habib (20 off 15 balls). Jatin and Irshad took 2 wickets each whereas Abhishant and Bagal shared 1 wicket each.
KC Club, in reply achieved the target in last over of the game for the loss of 6 wickets. Abhishant and Sahil contributed 52 and 51 runs for KC Club respectively. Rajesh took 3 wickets, Kalu 2 and Saqib one wicket for United Blues. Abhishant was declared man of the match for his all-round performance.
In another match, Country Cricket Academy scripted a comfortable win against Haryana XI.
Batting first, Country Academy made 171 runs in the allotted 18 overs for the loss of 7 wickets with Sant Baksh (51 in 35 balls), Akash Choudhary (40 in 25 balls) and Rockey (25 in 17 balls), being the main scorers. For GCA Haryana, Manoj, Ashish and Surinder shared 2 wickets each for GCA Haryana.
In reply, GCA Haryana failed to achieve the target as they bundled out in 16.5 overs. Ashish and Dikhsu contributed 13 and 12 runs to the total respectively. Yogesh and Sahil took 3 wickets each, while Harjeet bagged 2 wickets and Akash took 1 wicket. Sant Baksh was declared man of the match.
Another match was played between Tanishta Club and Akhnoor Club. Batting first, Tanishta scored a huge total of 205 runs in the allotted 18 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Hunny (64), Manjit Singh (53) and Prince (33) were the main scorers. Sonu and Anil took 3 wickets each while Sham Singh Langeh took 2 wickets for Akhnoor Club.
In reply, Akhnoor Club made 146 runs in 15.4 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Sunil and Sumit scored 52 and 51 runs respectively. When the Akhnoor team needed 60 runs in 14 balls, the umpires decided to stop the game and left the decision on organizing secretary, who said that the match will be resumed from the same situation on some other day.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Manchanda, Suhail Yusuf, Abhijot Singh Bedi, Farooq Ahmad and Yogesh. In tomorrow’s fixture, Cantt Cricket Club will take on RCC Srinagar at 8 am, while GCA Haryana will face ICC at 11 am and Royal Club will meet JKP Cricket XI at 1 pm.
