JAMMU, Apr 14: KC Sports Club, Simula Sports Club and JK Sports Promoters Club registered convincing wins and entered into the semifinals stage of the 5th Baisakhi Cricket Premier League at Parade ground, here.
The League on the occasion of Baisakhi is being organized by J&K Sports Promoters Club in collaboration with District Police Jammu.
The organizing committee members include Ranjeet Kalra, Hilal Rather, Rajesh Dhar, RK Bhat, Adv. PS Parmar, Umesh, Sudhir Singh, Saleem Ur Rehman, Anand Tripathi, Sadiq Hussain and Madan Mohan. Rajesh Gill, Former Ranji Trophy Player is the Coordinator of the event.
The sponsors of the premier league are Shukeel Gupta & Co. and Lep Sqad Co.
Earlier, in the first match, KC Sports Club defeated JPCC by 66 runs.
Batting first, KC Sports Club scored 174 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Amrit was the top scorer with 75 runs, studded with 7 fours and 2 sixes, while Surya made 49 runs and Suryansh contributed 20 runs to the total.
From JPCC, Nitin took 2 wickets while Neeraj and Vishal claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, JPCC bundled out for 108 runs in 15.3 overs. Raju and Ishaan made 24 runs each.
From KC Sports Club, Vivek took 3 wickets, Sahil and Sahil Lotra took 2 wickets each while Aman Sharma and Abhishant claimed 1 wicket each. Amrit was declared as the man of match.
In another match, Simula Sports Club defeated Young Cricket Club by 150 runs.
Batting first, Simula Sports Club scored 228 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Shashi was the top scorer with 63 runs with 10 fours and 1 six, Hardeep Singh scored 48 runs and Atul also contributed 38 runs to the total.
For YCC, Nobeen took 2 wickets while Santosh and Owais claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Youth Cricket Club collapsed at 78 runs in 18 overs. Owais (19), Asif (18) and Mobeen (12) were the main scorers.
For Simula, Kuldeep took 3 wickets, Hilal Rather, Abhinav and Satish claimed 2 wickets each. Shashi was declared as man of the match for his brilliant knock.
In another match, JK Sports Promoters Club defeated Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Club by 10 wickets.
Batting first, Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Club scored 113 in the stipulated 20 overs.
Aman was the main scorer who made 34 runs, while Sharuk scored 25 runs to the total.
For JK Sports Promoters Club, Shamsher Singh Manhas took 4 wickets, while Praful Dhar bagged 2 wickets. Rajesh Gill, Vishal and Yogesh claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, the openers of J&K Sports Promoters Club, Abdul Samad and Rohan Gill scored unbeaten 74 and 30 runs for the team, thus won the match by 10 wickets. Samad was declared as man of the match for his fabulous innings. He hit fours and sixes with fluidity and grace in his power-packed innings.
